HUDCO Commended. Central Green Defined. First of Its Kind.
Amroha Greens is not just the first planned row housing of the city. It is, quite simply, the most awarded.

Spread across 8 acres, this township for the Raj-Kamal Group has been recognized with the Commendation Prize by HUDCO under the HUDCO Design Awards 2012-13 in the category of Urban Housing. The award is not merely a plaque on a wall. It is validation of a simple truth: that thoughtful design, executed with discipline, can elevate an entire city's expectations of what housing can be.

Two Central Greens. Not One. Not Pockets.
Most layouts consolidate green into a single park. Here, the master plan is organized around two massive central landscaped lawns—twin lungs at the heart of the community. These are not decorative remnants after plots are placed. They are the organizing principle of the entire development.

The Central Greens serve as the community's living room—places for recreation, for gatherings, for children to run and elders to walk.
Service Lawns line the periphery, screening utilities and creating a soft edge between the township and the world outside.
The result is a layout where open space is not a destination but a constant presence—visible, accessible, and central to daily life.

The Pediment: A Language of Villa
The promoters envisioned the built structures as "Villas" or "Eco-Villas" —names that carry architectural weight. The design had to match the nomenclature.
The pediment was chosen as the prime design element—a deliberate nod to the quintessential villa aesthetic. But rather than repeat the same form across every street, the pediment was reinterpreted, scaled, and varied:
• Large sloping surfaces that span the entire width of larger plots.
• Smaller porticos that mark the entry of every home with quiet dignity.
• Combinations of these elements along different streets, ensuring that no two streets feel the same.
The language is consistent. The experience is varied. A community that looks the same everywhere feels like nowhere. Here, every street has its own character, and every home knows which one it belongs to.

Zoning: Diversity Within Order
The master plan integrates multiple residential typologies within a secure, gated environment:
• 107 Villas of varying sizes—Simplex and Duplex units across frontages from 18 to 25 feet.
• Independent Floors planned thoughtfully to accommodate budget constraints without compromising on quality.
• Group Housing Zone: A high-density anchor at the base of the site, maximizing residential capacity.
• Commercial Zone: Strategically positioned at the entry point—visible, accessible, yet non-intrusive to the residential core.

Circulation: Roads That Know Their Role
The road network is designed for clarity and flow:
• Primary Roads: 35 feet wide—the arteries for major movement.
• Internal Lanes: 25 feet wide—quiet, localized access to every home.

Infrastructure: Built to Last
Amroha Greens has been planned at par with the best practices prevalent in the country:
• All underground external electrification — no overhead wires.
• Underground stormwater drainage and rainwater harvesting pits — designed for sustainability.

The Unifying Idea
The HUDCO award confirms what the design already knew: that Amroha's first planned row housing was worth doing right. Two central greens, not one. Pediments varied, not repeated. Typologies mixed, not segregated. A community that feels both ambitious and accessible, both planned and alive.
This is not just a township. It is a template for how the city might grow next.

“Two central greens. Not one. Not pockets. Because a community needs lungs, not just ornaments. The pediments vary across every street, so no two blocks feel the same. And the HUDCO award? That's just the city of Amroha's first planned row housing getting the recognition it always deserved.”
